Pires sec Present Also present: Ivy Chun cc-23 No policy changes. Aloke Prabhakar began the meeting by confirming that he would no longer be president of the CSUA. Vice-president Jeff Anton will become the president of the CSUA. Aloke brought up the issue of the proposed ACM membership by the CSUA. Need to go over the by-laws and requirements of membership. The CSUA of U.C. Berkeley will host the next ACM programming contest. Discussed the facilities required to hold the contest and the organization of the contest( 24hr event; intro or finale in Sibley; actual contest in cory on ucbcory ). Kurt brought up the issue of the CSUA newsletter which may finally be completed and published sometime next semester. Faculty, graduates, and undergrads are encouraged to submit articles. Jeff brought up the issue of the 1st general meeting of the CSUA for this fall. Scheduled for Sept. 26, 1984 at 7:30pm in 9 Evans. Jeff proposed Kurt become vice-president & Ivy become secretary in Kurt's place. Kurt is affirmed the vice-president, Ivy the secretary pending the organization approval at the general meeting. Aloke and Jeff mentioned the need for the CSUA to maintain close ties with EJC & ACM (CSUA needs 2 EJC's representatives) Jeff and Kurt volunteered to attend the upcoming EJC meeting. Aloke mentioned the possibility of the cc accounts being moved to ucbugs. It is unclear whether this will actually occur. Aloke brought up the issue of policy of 2 prior general meeting attendences will be required from now on the maintain voting privileges. The meeting was basically a general discussion of what the organization needed to do and upcoming events.
