First Ten Things to do in Hong Kong
After arriving in Hong Kong, you might not know where to go and what to do. Hong Kong is a big city and the streets may seem foreign and difficult to find. I had this experience the first time I arrived there also. Unfortunately, no one directed me
or gave me advice beforehand. I was lost and even a bit frightened. I had relatives that I wasn't able to get a hold of so I ended up staying at the airport for over 4 hours. Fortunately, if you are reading this, you will have some good ideas about ho
w to get around once you land in Hong Kong. The information I'm giving applies to the Kai Tak Airport (The old airport in Kowloon where you can actually see people in their apartments just before landing....if you don't know what I'm talking about, you w
ill know the first time you arrive into Hong Kong, just be sure to get a window seat!!) I'm sure that the new airport will have the information I'm refering to here:
After landing, do the routene stuff you do at any airport such as pick up your luggage at the carosel and make necessary phone calls. Then go to the Hong Kong Tourist Association information booth and pick up lots of maps. You can ask them di
rections about how to get to your destination. If you are traveling
light, you may be able become a tourist right away, if not, check into a hotel. I will suggest finding one in either the Central district or the Tsim Sha Tsui district.
Okay, now you are ready to do some sightseeing. What time is it? How much you can do depends on how much time you have. Nevertheless, there are ten things you must do in Hong Kong before leaving. Here are my suggestions for you during your first d
ay, it will get you started in a wonderful trip:
