We again managed to find a great hostel to
stay in. This one, Haley Cottages, offered a little house (you might even say a
"cottage") with a kitchen and all. It was perfect, except that you could hear
everything happening outside through the paper-thin walls. Too bad they only had
vacancy the first night. |

Our new friend: video bar games. We started out
playing our traditional favorite, Photo Hunt, but quickly got hooked on Quiz Whiz.
After a few hours (and a few tips from the bar owner), we landed ourselves #2 on the
top score list. |

What to do when all the bars close? Go eat
NY-style pizza. This was the tastiest pizza either of us have ever tasted...and can't
you tell by the looks on our faces? |

What is this contraption we're on... |

..and why does it have two steering wheels?
This here is a surrey, and it's a four-wheeled bicycle. We rented one for half a day
and rode all along the waterfront and beyond. It's lots of fun, especially when you
take it off-roading. |

Who is this black man and why am I trying to
pinch his son's face? I don't know, but apparently they didn't even care... |

Just a few miles outside of Santa Barbara was
the Gainey winery, which turned out to a small yet very successful winery. We even
found out that their wine was served in the White House one year. Interesting. |
