Print Ad Design

These are the print ad designs that I have done for various organizations (so far, only two). I usually only do these things for certain people and/or events, since they take a large amount of time and effort to create.

If you would like a print ad designed (poster or handbill), please contact me via e-mail, and I will consider it. Usually a handbill design (front and back color) will cost anywhere from FREE up to about $250, depending on the event and complexity of the design.

Since the Club Daze design, I have had experience in CMYK color correction because of printing limitations. (sublimination printing usually does not need CMYK color separation but for the rest of the printers out there...)

That being said, here they are below:

Club Daze 1997 - Front Poster (I got a lot of flack for using this woman in the design of the handbill. For the record, I was pressed for time, and the handbills were not printed correctly.)

Club Daze was the first (and biggest event) I did print design for. Photoshop 3 and Kai Power Tools 3 were used for layout, rasterizing, and airbrushing. Streamline was used to trace contour the CSA logo, which was scanned from a really old membership card.

CSA Logo - Colorized with gradient and sculpted text from a b/w membership card. Contoured with Streamline 2.

Big Heart City Logo - Scanned and reconstructed (the blue lines were all obstructed by the old lettering) from a b/w business card of theirs. Added neon glow, shading, and sparkles.

Sculpted Text - Sculpted text were generated in a lot of different ways, using many blending and sharpening techniques. Primarily, KPT and Lighting Effect handled the bulk of the rendering, but a lot of retouching was needed.

Original Design - Second To None Logo, "Da Gloss Lip Woman", All lettering except "106 KMEL" and "WILD 107", CSA red/gold seal style.

Trespass was the project I did after figuring out my mistake with CMYK and some printers (who didn't do dye sub for their inks), causing the graphics to come out looking faded (like the Club Daze ones did). Again, I used Photoshop and KPT for all design work.

Precision Mixing D.J.'s Logo - This is loosely based on their business card, however I thought I'd fire it up by hazing out the text horizontally. Worked nice for a rush job. Blur -> Motion Blur (horizontal) if you're interested.

Secret Agent - This graphic was heavily airbrushed over an existing photo. The airbrushing was to correct a lot of flaws, and to increase resolution on the image.

Subliminal Lettering - I used a technique described in an advertising trade journal on designing eye-capturing text. As you can see, on the words "9pm to 1am" and "Unit 3 Complex", the text seems to stand out much more. This was a test to see if people would react to the red-blue outlines of the text, creating a jarring effect on the eye. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
