the welcome rant |

Welcome to the new mess. Trying to revamp the look here (yeah,
finally) and decided I should just do something...so here goes.
It's only taken me, what, two (plus) years (for those of you keeping
track...not that I'm paranoid
or anything).
After stewing over how to approach this web page design deal, I realized that I should go for something that I myself wouldn't mind loading in my browser. This may sound a little strange, I suppose, but I was battling with whether to create a set of pages that were full of whiz-bang (lots of 'plug-in required' stuff, a zillion graphics, sounds, etc.), or one that was fairly simple (and quick) to load and easy to navigate. Over the last 2-3 years, I've tried a variety of web browsers for the Macintosh. Currently, I find myself using Netscape Communicator 4.0.1 and MacLynx (oh, the irony!...a text-based web browser for the Mac!). This has taught me that no matter which browser you use, there is nothing on the net quite as frustrating as trying to load a page that is so heavily-laden with junk...er, I mean really-cool, neat-o whiz-bang stuff that either:
With this in mind, I'm trying to create browser-independent pages that are easy to load, easy to look at, easy to digest, and easy to navigate. There you have it; what I'm up to here. For the moment, I'm just reorganizing the same old content, but I am slowly amassing a new collection of images that I've done since these pages were originally created.
