Good news clip. Know our rights! It is illegal for the towing company to tow your vehicle out of the parking lot while you are present.

The following happens to me in LA several years ago. It goes to illustrate how crooked these guys can get...
I was driving my wife & her sister to a popular restaurant. Failing to find a vacant parking space, I went across the street to park at a mini mall. After we went into the restaurant, I returned to car to get something I'd forgotten. I ran when I saw a tow truck stopped in front of my car. The driver got off his tow truck. A security guard was there. When I told them that I'll move the car. The security guard told me that they were going to tow my car anyway, despite my pleas. I insisted and the bastard security guard put his hands on his gun and told me to step back as if I was threatening him or something. Then he told me that I'd have to pay for the tow fees if I want to move my car!
Being that it was my sister-in-law's car and just to avoid the hassles I relented and pay the tow-trucker the $$. I was pissed to say the least. I wished I'd known the laws & call the cops on them! Oh well, live & learn...
