Broadcasting VS. The Internet

The asyncronise environment of the internet gives it a new edge over the current broadcast media environment. People can attend to several tasks at their own discression, and still communicate their ideas to others. The televison and radio industries are dependent on timely and undivided attention. However, there are other advantages of the internet as well. While the TV and Radio are limited to very few stations, the internet is almost unlimited. I can find something in Europe if I want to by browsing the web, while over the radio waves, I'm limited to what frequencies are in my local area. The television networks are dominated by corperations like General Electric, Time Warner, Disney, and Westinghouse. I've written an essay about the effects of corporate consolidation on network television. No corporation is going to tell me where to go on the internet... unless they gain control over the information market too... watch out for Microsoft.
