The Internet is quickly becomeing the worlds most efficient form of communication. It is moveing beyond the capabilitites where radio, television, and film have previously failed. Although at this point it is less accesable than current forms of communication, the internet is expanding its base. Free-nets are gaining more and more support from the computer industry, which will highten the internets user market. Once the internet has the capeability of reaching as many people as the television, I think you will find a Web Page in every living room instead of a TV. The music industry in particular will benifit from this ease in the flow of information. Where before, spacific genres and industry enteproneures dominated the passage of musical ideas, now all types of music will be heard. The Internet is a series of big computers connected to eachother 24 hours a day. The users are made up of people from many different walks of life, connecting to these huge computers from their homes, offices, schools, and public computer labs. The diversity and quantity of the internet user population makes for one of the largest consumer population known to the human race. More people are getting "on-line" everyday, and more spacifically more musicians are getting on-line.Every musician has his/her own personal set of influences. While one person may write a song largely based on such musical pioneers as Miles Davis and John Coltrain, another may write a similar song stemming from an entirely different genre of music.
