Picture Guide To Scotland

Getting the bikes together was a big hassle, and caused me no end of frustration: It rains a lot in Scotland, and whenever that happened, we had to put on raincapes. Some of us aren't amused by this, and unfortunately, I'm one of them:

Our first destination was the Isle of Arran, which was gorgeous, though very rainy:

We stayed at the Brodick Guest House

There was that obligatory time spent visiting ruined castles, of course:

Glenbeg was our first ruined castle. As you can see, it's kinda hard to get in, which means that it was a good design.
Carbisdale was a relatively modern castle converted into a youth hostel. 2 nights spent there was too many, however, as it was quite cold!
Urqhaut was the last ruined castle we visited. It was quite nice, though we got there late and didn't get much chance to explore.

But never forget, the biggest meanest castle of them all, Edinburgh castle:

But Scotland wasn't all castles. It was also touristy spots like Oban:

And meeting new friends like Scarlet Tang:

(That was the Clan MacDonald Center grounds. Pretty, ain't it?)

The Outer Hebrides were gorgeous, but rainy, rainy, and rainy:

Then there was Ullapool & the road to Carbisdale, as well as Carbisdale itself:

It was actually warm enough for a while to wear shorts! Nice BridgeCouldn't help showing it twice.

Then there was also Inverness, a visit to a distillary, and good weather:

Inverness was gorgeous!Obligatory distillary It only gets nice at the end of a trip!

Never forget the hairy cows!
