10-14 11pm
When people ask my why I find beauty in the
bleak and the barren, I ask them to describe
the surface of the moon. What is more beautiful
than a full moon? I was out looking for the
cat again, but all I could see was the moon.
It made me think of J., who is far away
and in her own way, just as beautiful.

Where is that
damn cat?

Something about the unobtainable that
also draws me -- not talking about the cat,
either. The cat is just a pain in the ass.

10-15 7:30pm (okay, 7:29 but I have this obsessive desire
to round up)
The cat came back! He walked all bedraggled and
arrogant this morning, carrying something I have yet to
identify in his mou;. He proudly dropped the thing at
my feet before sauntering out onto the porch to sun
himself. I just had time to scrape it up with a dust-
pan and plop it in a bucket when somebody started
screaming out in the woods. I ran out, but the screaming
stopped. Most of the rest of the day was taken up
with police reports. So far, nobody has found anything.
I could do without this kind of excitement. Time to
look at my "gift", I guess. More later...
