Shelley's Current Life Status

First off, I'm not female. Yeah, yeah, I know... I asked my parents, but they each claim the other chose the name from a book. I looked up the name in that book and darned if they weren't speaking the truth. Under the listing for names for boys and starting with "S," there was "Shelley." Of course, the book was ancient, but what can yah do?

Stop sending me the damn emails trying to pick up on me, that's what you can do....

At least my little brother had Stacy Keach to look view as a masculine role model. Ah oh well, I probably would have turned out the same no matter my name.

So if any of you guys out there are thinking of sending me any bizarre email, forget it. You're not my type.

Second, I am not a student. How did I get this wonderfully free account? I was an ex-secretary, ex-vice-president, and member of the Computer Science Undergraduate Association here at the University of California, Berkeley.

Currently, I'm a UNIX system administrator-fer-rent and my current contract is with Northrop Grumman and working at the US Postal Service in San Mateo.

Actually, I started working at USPS in 2000 for a company called Responsible Solutions, Limited which changed it's name to Procinct Security in 2001 and then had it's Postal contract end in 2002 leaving me to choose between unemployment or my new masters at Northrop Grumman.

Let's just say the state doesn't pay my rent.

My last job was at Tandem, which was consumed by Compaq, down in Cupertino. I used to live in Berkeley for the longest time, called Sunnyvale home, but now that title lies with the Defensible Island of Alameda.

Since I'm talking about places where I came from, I would be remiss in not mentioning my hometowns of Clovis (which I remember) and Fresno (which is an eerie blur, and tends to come out when I'm in an odd way).

While I have been trying to break the habit, I fear I'm still a sports fan. I follow the SF Giants and the Niners. I used to be a Raiders fan, but that was long ago, before the betrayal of Al (spit) Davis to Los Angeles.

In my spare time I play and paint miniatures for Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Fantasy Battle (both products of Games Workshop). I'm also interested in other miniature games plus play in the occasional play-by-[e]mail and board game too.

I also spend some time volunteering at the local public access channel station KMVT doing sports shoots for Laz.
