So if you're looking at this page you were probably wondering
something like "who is sls?" so I'll summarize
quickly. I first attended Cal in '88 (which makes me a year younger
than Partha), and I was around until 1990 or so.
Then I worked for a couple of years at The Aerospace Corporation in L.A.
learning how to deal with C, X11, C++, and a bunch of other geeky
computer stuff (almost all of which are skills that are in great
demand -- lucky me.) In March of '94 I came back to Berkeley to work
at LBL, and in the fall of '95 I went back to school.
