When I received my January 2003 bill from SBC, there is a unauthorized charged of $53.56 by ILD. I was charged for accepting two collect calls from Cuba; each is a three-minute call. You do the math: that is almost $9 per minute!
But that is besides the point. I have never accepted any collect calls, domestic or internatonal. I was outraged. I called the 1800 number provided on the bill right away to disput the charge. After giving the service rep my telephone number, I was informed that he was unable to find the number in their system. That was just f*cking unbelivable. They didn't have my number in their system but somehow they managed to impose some unauthorized charge on me.
But to their credit, the service rep did eventually agree to take the charges off the phone bill. BUT (yes, there is always a but...) he said my account wouldn't be credited until 90 days later. I found that not quite acceptable since they were quick to place the mischarge so they should be able to quickly reverse it too. We shall see in 90 days...
So what the heck is ILD Teleservices? I did a search on the web, and I found this. Apparently I am not the only one who has had problems with them. So watch out folks...
