I checked all the receipts over the years and noticed "N/A" appeared next to "Differential." Jiffy Lube told me that N/A meant "fluids not available" or "Not accessible." This appeared on every invoice since the first visit over several years. I also noticed "N/A" appearing next to other items on the invoices for her car and my truck. Basically, it turns out that Jiffy Lube charges you for "signature service" but routinely does not perform all the maintenance items on the contract.
After denying, arguing, insulting and running away from me for a few weeks, they finally paid $1,800 dollars to replace my differential and pay for my wife's train tickets home from Richmond. It is my duty to inform my fellow consumers that they are almost certainly being charged for services not performed and that their vehicles (and possibly and their safety) are in danger if they rely upon Jiffy Lube for lubrication maintenance. I will be happy to provide written documentation of my experience; I sincerely hope you will pass the word, and you may give my name.
I had specifically asked if the pressure was correct on the rear tires, and they told me yes. I checked them myself and realized that the back tire was actually 10 lbs under pressure. The windows were not cleaned and it wasn't vacuumed either. The worst part of my story was that they never bothered to replace the oil cap on my enigine. I drove the car for five days before seeing smoke from the engine. I then called the manager and he then suggested that I stop driving the car immediately. Jiffy Lubes answer to this problem was for me to go to car wash and have the car's engine steam cleaned.
I had to take the car to my mechanic and get a new oil cap from the dealer and steam clean the engine. Jiffy Lube paid for theses items but they seemed real put out to have to do so. My car is a 2000 model and the engine could have seized. At the car wash I told the manager and he told me that Jiffy Lube sends customers there all the time. I no longer am a Jiffy Lube customer and would like to warn future Jiffy Lube customers to beware. Thank you for letting me address my self on this matter.
