However, I switched to PT1 by dialing 1016868 after I had been using 1010-321 because PT1 had much better rates and shorter billing increments by the seconds instead of minutes. I don't work for pt1 I'm just giving my honest opinion. I'm surprised to hear the problems people have had with them and old phone#'s in particular. When I move or cancel this phone#, I'll be sure to notify PT1 at the same time. It's usually not hard to get these kinds of billing errors resolved. Your local phone company can usually file the dispute and resolve it for you or just report to BBB usually that gets quick response (I've done this with an internet provider who kept billing me after cancellation and sent huge bill to collection agency ). The credit reporting bureaus will also remove anything you dispute as invalid reports just call them TRW Equifax etc. and ask to dispute. Good Luck!
I'll be checking back to see if you really are fair and post these comments. Otherwise, I'll figure you are just as crooked as PT1.
My response: As you can see, your story is up on my web site; I am not a crook, right, Dave? :)
As I look at the complaints on your site, it appears that all of the problems relate to calls from terminated telephone numbers being billed back to the former owners of those numbers. That is a very specific type of record-keeping mistake, which should be correctable. I would hardly call it unethical behavior.
My response: I've read your opinion on PT-1 Communications on my guestbook. While I agree it's a very specific record-keeping mistake, what enrages most of us is that, I think, their customer rep refused on many occasions to work with us to get it corrected. What's more outrageous is they would go ahead and send the bills to collection agencies.
But everyone's opinion counts, I will go ahead post your opinion under the "Good Story" section. It will be the first good story featured on my site :)
