Dealing with PT-1 Long Distance's (formerly PT-1 Communications) crime
A lot of you have sent me email and asked me how to deal with PT-1's
scam. Well, I am not a lawyer so I am not allowed to give you any
legal advice, but I will share with you how some people and I have dealt
with them before:
-
Use this form
to register your complain to both FTU and your state's public utilities
commission. Call or check your state's public utilities web site,
they should be able to offer you help on how to go about resolving the
conflict.
-
Regardless of what your state's pubic commision advice might be, always
contact your local phone company. If PT-1's bill comes with your
local phone company's, they may be able to help you remove the erroneous
charges. And if the charges occurred when you didn't even have
telphone service at the address where they billed you, get a letter from
your local phone company stating so. Then you can use the letter to
dispute any
credit report errors, if PT-1 has sent the bill to a collection
agency. Of course, you can try to send the same letter to PT-1 and
pray they will remove the charges.
Order your 3-in-1 credit report.
-
If you have been contacted by a collection agency, learn
how to protect yourself. Read more details about Fair Debt Collection
Practices Act on the FTC site.
That's about it, guys. I wish you good luck with your battle with
PT-1 Communiations!
